First makings
On August 23, 1962, the first-born, Dean Karnazes, was born into a working-class Greek family. A year later, Craig was born, and after three – Peri. For fourteen years, the family lived in Inglewood, a suburb of Los Angeles. The child’s running addiction appeared in early childhood. Passing into the third grade, he began to participate in short-distance competitions. Getting older, the boy more and more liked to test himself for endurance and unrestrainedly drawn to travel. At the age of eleven, he went through the entire Grand Canyon and climbed Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the Related States. And when the future marathoner turned 12, he covered 65 km in one day on a bicycle. Continue reading
