Born April 15, 1974, Portland, Oregon.

Danny Way’s father passed away when he was only eight months old. His mother is a drug addict, remarried. The stepfather instilled in his adoptive son a love and desire to ride a skateboard. At the age of six, Danny rode regularly at a local skate park, and won his first competition at age 11. Already in his young years, he played for various teams such as Bones Brigade, H-Street, Blind and Plan B. By the nature of the daredevil, he was a thrill-seeker and was traumatized for many years. From 1999 to 2002, he underwent seven operations – five on his knee and two on his shoulder. Even when trying to try his hand at surfing, as a result of an accident, he broke his neck, and it took him more than a year to recover. Continue reading

XAVIER DE LE RUE – REAL EXTREME!

Xavier De Le Rue was born July 1, 1979 in Bayonne (France). He began his international career at the 1997 World Junior Championships in Korno-alle-Skala, where he took 13th place in giant slalom. On November 14, 1997, he made his debut at the World Snowboard Championship. In Tignes (commune in France), he returned to the giant slalom, but took only 76th place. A week later, in Zell am See, he reached 57th place. For the first time in Lienz in January 1998, he managed to take 7th place, thereby falling into the top ten. Still a junior, at the 1998 World Cup in Chamruss, he finally won the silver medal in giant slalom. In March 1998, he first performed at the Les Angles resort in parallel slalom, and also won the FIS race. A week later, he made his halfpipe debut and took 13th place in Kotra, almost falling into the top ten. At the 1998 French Championships in Alp-d’Huez, he first took part in the snowboard cross and took 4th place. After winning several FIS races in this new discipline, as well as winning the national title at the 2001 French Championships in Serre Chevalier, he went to the World Cup, which began in September 2001. Luke Aykins went down in history as the first person to jump from a height of 7,600 meters without insurance. The parachutist-record holder devoted 30 years of his life to air, one day to show the world that the impossible is possible and become an inspiration for a thousand enthusiasts, as he once was.

Biography

Luke Aykins was born November 21, 1973 on the Gulf of Mexico in the touristic city of Corpus Christi, Texas. In the family of third-generation paratroopers, almost everyone was involved in air sports. Mother, father, uncle and aunt are titled athletes with their own school and teaching methods. The childhood idol of the future extremal was Joseph Kittinger, who set a world record by parachuting from a height of 31,300 meters on August 16, 1960. Continue reading

Childhood

An American snowboarder, skier, mountain biker and motocross racer was born on November 14, 1968 in South Lake Tahoe (California, USA). From early childhood, Sean was interested in activities in which there is great speed. In an interview with People magazine, his mother said: “Wheels or boards – it doesn’t matter, it should be super-fast. He was not afraid of anything. Once, when he was 13, he was punished, then he jumped out of the window of his room on the second floor, got on his bike and sped off. Sean has always been like this – pushing the boundaries. ”

JEAN-PHILIPPE AUCLAIR – REAL EXTREME!

Freestyler Jean-Philippe Oakler was born in Saint-Foix, Quebec on August 22, 1977. He was known by the nickname J.P. At a young age he showed talent in the traditional disciplines of skiing. However, all the basic rules and requirements established by FIS severely limited his freedom, so JP left the classic freestyle and started inventing his own tricks.

He had like-minded people like Vincent Dorion and Shane Zox, JF Cusson and Mike Douglas. Newspapers dubbed the team “The New Canadian Air Force.” The young extremal regularly won prizes in big air. At the age of 34, he moved to live in the mountainous Switzerland – the dream of any skier.

In order to get permission to perform new tricks on the mogul highway, J.P. sometimes had to do paperwork for several months. Continue reading
