In a long list of phobias, many of which nature has generously endowed with man, there is one called fear of heights. People subject to this scourge often use the expression “breathtaking”, even if they are separated from a hard surface by some ridiculous two meters. But nevertheless, one should pay tribute to justice – anyone will feel, to put it mildly, not comfortable when there is an abyss several hundred meters deep underfoot.
Anyone, but not Alain Robert, since this extreme is the steeper the height, the better and, therefore, there is work to do. They admire him, make fun of him, they simply do not understand him, but everyone, as one, agrees that Robert is an extraordinary personality, an athlete without fear and reproach, a player with Destiny and Fortune. On the ground, in the air, on the water – with the help of wheels, boards of various modifications, engines and just a pair of skis – each of the participants tries to prove to the opponent that his passion for risk is several dimensions higher than the others. And that the most dangerous and, possibly, crazy action (trick, feint, trick) is yet to come. This is X-Games – and there is no place for weaklings and cowards! Just 31-year-old American skateboarder Tony Hawke forever imprinted his personal data in the history of extreme entertainment. From the 11th attempt, he nevertheless obeyed the extremely complicated number, which was called the Indy 900 among skateboarders. The essence of it is to jump on a ramp and be able to complete a revolution of 900 degrees around itself. It’s hard to even imagine, not what to accomplish.
