Safety is in wing not motor! It's a GLIDER! We are supposed to shut off motor every time before we land each time! It's that safe if the motor goes out!! it really is! It is standard practice to shut off motor before landing each time we fly in order to land! This way further protects the cage and prop if get sudden down draft or slip and do butt plant. For years me and a friend used to fly for 1-2 hours out over 'no mans land' wild life preserve and back in the morning. Then we would climb until we ran out of gas and glide back down utilizing thermals to maximize up time. |
