LIZZY HOWKER. VOYAGE THOUSAND MILES

For Lizzy Hawker, athletes from Britain, long races can be called the meaning of her life. In this sport, she is considered one of the best in the history of running. Imagine how you can run without stopping for three days. That’s how much and even slightly longer one of the athlete’s marathons lasted when she ran 199 miles, starting from a mountain camp located on Everest (5361 m above sea level) and ending in Kathmandu.

FIRST ACHIEVEMENTS
Lizzy Hawker is a multiple award-winning long distance runner. The athlete believed that if something has already begun, then it must be brought to the end, and to do it better than others. So she won the most difficult races, leaving behind her the most famous world athletes.

Oddly enough, but on her first long run, a woman decided only after she was 36 years old. In 2005, she acquired special running shoes, and at first she trained to run at home. When Lizzie realized for herself that she was ready, she took part in the famous 103-mile marathon. It was called Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, and the height difference was 31 thousand feet. This was the first professional mountain race athletes. She doubted that in general she could reach the finish line. But she was a winner. In subsequent years, the runner became a record holder for races at a given distance 4 more times.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY HOWKER: UNBEATABLE CHARACTER AND ENDURANCE
After victories in the most difficult races, the name Lizzy Hawker became known to many. But the athlete did not lose her head from fame. Moreover, she said that almost every healthy person can run the same distance. You just need to start and not give up. It was surprising to many that the athlete was a vegetarian. But even more surprising was the fact that the woman turned out to be a doctor of science and a famous British oceanographer. Then Lizzie said that she really likes to spend time on scientific expeditions.

As for sports activities, the champion was not limited to any certain types of distances. Equally well, she was able to overcome both mountain routes and long distances along a straight road. Plus, Lizzy Hawker was engaged in skiing and mountaineering, but she preferred to go on such trips alone to control the number of halts and not make them without special needs. So, she alone overcame the Great Himalayan Trail. However, getting lost, she had 2 days to wander through the forest. However, she did not contact her group, just to not bother in vain people. But having injured her knee on the third day of wandering, she had to turn to help.

Answering the questions of journalists, the athlete said that she never counted the total number of miles she covered in her life. She only said that over the course of a week she runs about 150 miles, only occasionally allowing herself to relax. And in 2011, the woman broke another record in the women’s 153 miles race in Wales, which she ran in 24 hours.

Today, the champion lives in Switzerland. Lizzy Hawker is a member of the North Face team, receiving a small sports scholarship. With this money, a woman lives, abandoning research and activities in the British Antarctic Survey. Instead, the woman decided to take up the running lessons that she gives to both adults and children. She teaches people stamina and a great desire to achieve the goal that helped her achieve such amazing results.
