SEAN ROGER WHITE – REAL EXTREME

There are individuals in the world of sports, cinema or music who are admired for their actions. Such can safely be attributed to the red-haired guy – Sean Roger White. He is rightfully the best snowboarder in the world and the Olympic champion. For the appearance and style of riding a guy began to be called – Flying Tomato.

CHILDHOOD

Sean was born into a family of a waitress and a plumber in September 1986 in California (USA). The family constantly moved from one place to another and lived in a van. The only entertainment they could afford was skiing on the slopes of the mountains. The guy’s parents fanatically loved snowboarding, although at that time this sport did not bring any income. They allowed the boy not to go to school and train hard, believing that with the help of the board their son would get rich.

But all this was later, and White began his life with a diagnosis of doctors – a congenital heart disease. From the very beginning, the baby’s life was in danger. Sean was lucky that he was tackled by professional doctors who saved his life. At the age of five, the boy underwent two heart surgeries and recovered. At six, parents put the boy on a snowboard, which caused a lot of questions from others. But the father and mother of the child claimed that snowboarding can bring good money. And they guessed right with the choice of occupation for Sean.

“FLYING TOMATO”

Having first hit the slope, six-year-old Sean began to skilfully skate on the board. Within a year, the boy was so confident on the snowboard that his parents decided to show him to the managers of the sports company Burton Snowboards. The guy was immediately taken to training, and his development was monitored by Jake Burton himself – the founder of the company.

The first training Sean White spent in Southern California – on the slopes of Bear Mountain, where he trained until the age of 13. The guy participated in almost all competitions. Recalling that time, Sean said: “Skating on the board for me is primarily a pleasure. If you regard this occupation as work, I would not do it for a day. ” The skill of the boy grew at an incredible pace, and deserved success and recognition of others came to Sean. Because of the red hair of a guy who was striking, one of the opponents came up with the nickname “Flying Tomato”.

SPORTS CAREER AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Starting at the age of 16, White began to win first place in the World Winter Extreme Sports Championship. His achievements in that period:
nine gold medals (from 2003 to 2009)
two silver (2002, 2007)
two bronze (2007, 2008)

For White, 2007 was a landmark year. He took the lead in the World Tour.

The main thing in Sean’s life was the victory at the Olympic Games. This first happened in 2006 in the Italian city of Turin. And four years later, already in Canadian Vancouver, Sean again proved that he was the strongest. He got the second consecutive Olympic gold, this time for a half-pipe.

White is fortunate that snowboarding began to be recognized as a sport during his growing up. In 1991, not all ski resorts could ride on the board, and in 1998 this sport received Olympic recognition.

Snowboarding brings Sean an annual income of about a million dollars. This is pretty good money that allowed him to buy a house on the California coast in 2002 for his parents. Later, White purchased a home for himself, where he built a skate ramp for training.

Due to the striking appearance and lifestyle, Sean is popular among young people. This is actively used by advertising companies. Its sponsors are such well-known companies as PlayStation, Motorola’s Product, Hewlett-Packard. As well as producer of soft drinks Mountain Dew and a chain of stores Target.
